Preparing millennials for the future & boosting their lives with technology

“We now accept the fact that learning is a lifelong process of keeping abreast of change. And the most pressing task is to teach people how to learn. Peter Drucker

With technology´s advent, the borders are diluting into cyberspace and each person is transforming into its own brand. The mission of the new generation is to change themselves in order to shape the world. Based on Drucker’s “Managing Oneself” I have found some key elements that millennials could take into consideration to achieve this:

Remember your childhood dreams

The rush of daily life could make us forget why we are here in the first place, so go back to your childhood and find those moments that offers you excitement, passion, and a vision.

Understand your values

The pillar of your decisions should be your values and not the opportunities, so remember the experiences with your family and embrace your value system.

Understand how you work

According to Drucker, it is important to demystify the popular conception of the school, in which everyone should learn the same stuff, and develop at the same level of its peers; instead focus on understanding your own learning process.

Discover the life purpose

The extraordinary potential of a human could only be achieved by finding out the purpose in life. Remembering Thomas Carlyle: “A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder.”

Identify your strengths

If you identify your strengths and weaknesses, and then concentrate your time and effort developing your strengths you could find achievement and satisfaction in life.

Embrace your self-development

As Peter Drucker said: “successful careers are not “planned”. Instead, it is stepping out of the comfort zone. Be prepared for the changes. Embrace the opportunities.

Establish a healthy support system

Since “relationships are the oil of a company”, then, is important to create a peer coaching group so each person could have a free space for learning and coaching.

However, this self-development could be achieved and boost by radical shifts on how the technology should be part of our lives Changing the structures and attitudes towards the future.
